Believe

Jesus Christ is Lord, God manifested in the flesh. He died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day. Salvation is found in Him alone. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already.

Understand

Understanding comes from the Lord. His Word must not only be heard but understood. Christ opens minds to the Scriptures. The wicked do not understand, but the wise do. Let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows the Lord.

Interpret

Interpretation belongs to God. The Word was God and became flesh; therefore Scripture is not of private interpretation. It must be handled rightly, not bent to fit man but received with submission and divided faithfully. Lean not on your own understanding, for Christ is the fullness of divine revelation and Christ in you is the hope of glory.

Learn

Learning is not mere knowledge, but obedience shaped by truth. Learn the commands of the Lord and walk in them. Learn to do good and seek righteousness. The wise increase in learning and store up knowledge. Learn from Christ, continue in what has been learned, and practice it faithfully.

Teach

All authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Christ. Study the Word, live it, and entrust it to faithful men who will teach others also.
